The Gaines Classic Faceplate column locking insert can be flush mounted into a column, pilaster or wall. As with all Gaines products, these column mailboxes are manufactured to exacting standards using 100% aluminum and solid brass castings. The mail receptacle box is also constructed using aluminum and is sure to provide many years of reliable service. Polished brass accents standard. Antique bronze and satin nickel extra, as described. Gaines Classic Faceplate column mailboxes include a "standard" mail slot of 3" high x 10" wide. While the large size will not prevent unwanted hands from entering the mailbox, it does provide for large bundles of mail and small packages to be easily inserted into the mailbox. For those only moderately concerned with mail theft, this option may provide the best option as the presence of the lock typically provides some level of deterrence while not limiting the functionality of the mailbox. If security is a concern, the high security option restricts the opening by half, to 1-1/2" high x 10" wide. This option is factory installed and must be ordered at time of purchase, however, it can be removed by the user if you decide you prefer the larger mail slot. This listing is for the mailbox only, masonry columns are not included.

Optional stainless steel masonry flag with bracket provides means of attaching an outgoing mail flag to your column. This mailbox does not have a storage compartment for outgoing mail. You must use a separate storage compartment or clip for outgoing mail. Mailbox flag is available with purchase of a column mailbox. Flag dimensions are 1.5" x 7".
